[TONKAWA, OK, 2/24/2023] The organizers of the Tonkawa Film Festival have announced their Official Selections for the 2023 Tonkawa Film Festival which returns for its 4th year April 14th and15th, hosted by the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce. Festival screenings will once again take place at Wilkin Hall on the beautiful Northern Oklahoma College campus in Tonkawa, OK.
This year’s 35 selected short films, include 7 international films and represent filmmaking across 6 genres (Drama, Comedy, Horror, Documentary, Animation and Music Videos). The festival will culminate with an awards ceremony April 15th where custom made plaques will be presented to the winners of each genre as well best Oklahoma film, Native American film and Student film. Also, a $500 cash prize given to one film selected as the Best of the Fest. Festival attendees and visiting filmmakers will again be treated to a one-of-a-kind film festival parade through downtown Tonkawa taking place April 15th at 11 am. Parade will include a film themed costume and float contests which will be eligible for part of the $1,000 in cash prizes generously donated by the First National Bank of Oklahoma in Tonkawa.
A list of the selected films is available to view at the festival’s website. Tickets are also on sale and can be purchased through the website or in-person. All filmmakers attending with a selected film are provided a free hotel room throughout the festival at the Tonkawa Hotel & Casino, as well as transportation to/from airport.
